REFLECT

Are you growing?

Picture
And I don't mean growing physically. A couple of weeks ago Matt asked in his preach, "Have you stopped growing?" It's got me thinking about what spiritual growth looks like in my life and how I can ensure that I continue growing in my relationship with God and in who I am as a Christian. Looking back over my life I think some of my most fruitful years of spiritual growth were in my teenage years, and it's my prayer for you guys that you would look to God and experience spiritual growth spurt after spiritual growth spurt!
Have a think about the following questions and be as honest as you can with yourself:
  • What helps you to keep growing in your relationship with God?
  • What is currently stopping or slowing down your growth rate? (e.g. Do you have questions you want answered? Need to change something in your routine? Need help to overcome bad habits or sin?)
  • What action can you take to make sure you keep growing in your relationship with God? (remember, it's not your parents or youth leaders who make sure you grow but you need to take steps to ensure you are growing)
  • Read John 15:1-8. Thank God that he always has more for us! And pray that God would always give you opportunities to keep growing!
